Roy Joe joined the staff as Minister of Administration, in June, 2008 coming from the Houston, Texas area. He is a native of the Texas Hill country and holds a BS degree in Agriculture Ed. from Sam Houston State University, and a Master of Divinity Degree from Baylor University’s George W. Truett Theological Seminary.
Roy Joe has been married to Lydia for 34 years, and has three daughters Jennifer Ham, Courtney Ramirez and Rebekah Ham all continuing to live in Texas. Prior to his call to full time ministry in 1994 he served as a deacon for 13 years in Memphis, TN, Corpus Christi and Uvalde, TX.
He comes to FBC with a background in agriculture, construction, public relations and management. Roy Joe has also served as pastor in the Waco, TX area, the western mountains of Colorado, and in Montgomery Texas. He has participated in short term mission opportunities to Boston, Jamaica, Mexico and Prague, as well as being the founding pastor of the mission church New Life Fellowship.
My philosophy of this ministry is that each building, item of furniture, vehicle and dollar that are given or used by FBC in our ministry here in Norman or around the world, should be appropriately considered both as gifts from God and our offering to Him in return. I see the maintenance, care and use of these as visual testimony of our love for God and our understanding of our call to be His people on the mission to be His voice, hands and feet to the world around us as well as to each other. That will always come with the prayer and question of “how are we doing in that regard?’
