Dear Parents, February 1, 2012

Happy Groundhog Day, tomorrow!!  Go outside and look for your shadow with your child!  Is there a shodow today? Did it scare you?  Or is that just silly?  Look at how it moves with you.  Have fun!

The Community Helper month was a lot of fun.  We liked dressing up in different hats and uniforms and pretending to be someone else.  Hats, shoes and coats are the best dress-up items to have.  They are easy for a pre-schooler to put on and off and there is a whole world of “play” in them.

In February, we will be learning about “Friends”.  We have friends at school, church, our neighborhood and around town.  Our final Bible story in January about Paul writing letters to his friends was a great way to introduce friendship. The February Bible stories will highlight four sets of Bible friends. The children will learn how God wants us to love our friends and how to be good friends.

On February 15 we will have our Valentine Party from 10:00-11:00.  All children are invited as well as any parent who would like to attend.   All children can come and stay for the entire day.  We will have games, a craft , a snack and a Valentine card exchange time.  There will be a sign-up at each room for snacks and drinks.  (If you have not had a turn to bring a snack or drinks, please let the teacher know so you will get first chance to sign-up)  We ask when you send your valentines that you sign your child's name (or let the child), but do not individualize the recipient.  You will find the number of children in your class at the bottom of this letter.  Please make at least one extra card in case of a drop-in.

May God bless you,

Your PDO family
