Dance classes are offered at Norman’s First Baptist Family Life Center
(FLC) for children ages two through fourth grade. Creative Movement classes are
taught to children ages 2 and early 3, while ages 3 and up participate
in Combination classes in Ballet, Tap, Creative Movement, and Jazz
for first through fourth grades. The classes are fun and exciting for children while they
learn dance skills using props, imagination, storylines, songs, and games.
The choreography is fun and age appropriate.

Classes meet one time per week from September through May observing
the same Christmas and spring break holidays as the Norman Public Schools.
A completed registration form and a $15 non-refundable registration and
insurance fee will reserve your child’s space in a class.
 

Specific questions concerning the program should be addressed to the
program director, Ms. Kim at at kandsweaver@pldi.net. Some classes fill up
quickly so reserve your space early.
The first month’s tuition is due prior to the first day of class. All tuition checks
should be written to the FBC with your child’s name and “dance” written on the
memo line. 

Students may join the program, space permitting, any time throughout the year.
The program does host a May dance recital and children do wear costumes
which is an additional cost for parents; however, participation
in the recital is optional for all students.
 

Proper attire for all classes includes leotards and tights with optional attached or elastic dance skirts
for girls and shorts and t-shirts for boys.  Specific shoes are required for some classes as noted; otherwise required shoes are black Mary Jane tap shoes with tap'n ties, and pink leather ballet shoes for girls and black for boys.  No house shoe style ballet slippers allowed. Hair should be pulled away from the face.
