HOW MUCH WILL THIS COST?

The cost is estimated at an amount between $1,500 and $1,750, depending on airfare costs.  This cost will include air transportation to Lima, ground transportation while in Lima, hotel, and meals.

(Updated Wednesday, 1/25/2012)  FBC Norman's Missions Committee has agreed to subsidize each participant's cost for this by $400.  This means that your final cost will be $400 less than the total.  That total is dependent on what I hear back from the airlines in the next few days.  In order to receive the $400 subsidy, each person will need to sign a document at our first meeting, Sunday, February 12.  In addition, if you need to apply to the Missions Committee for more than the $400 subsidy, up to half of the trip cost, you can feel free to do so by downloading this PDF, filling it out and then turning it into the church office.

WHO WILL WE WORK WITH WHILE IN PERU?

While in Peru, we will work with Operación San Andrés (OSA), a ministry formed to reach the people of Collíque, an area just north of Lima.  To find out as much as possible about OSA, please click HERE.

This is the ministry organization that we will partner with while we are in Peru.  The founders of this ministry are Luis and Ruth Campos, who visited our church and gave a presentation in September 2011.

WHAT WILL WE DO IN PERU?

We will work with two groups of children (one in the morning, one in the afternoon) at the OSA house in Collíque, as well as beginner construction projects, as needed in the same area.  We will also have time with some 6th graders who have grown up going to the OSA house.  At the beginning and end of our time in Lima, we will have time for touristy stuff and shopping.
