The CenturyMen, a men’s chorus of professional Christian musicians who are ministers of music, concert artists, college faculty members and state music leaders from across America, will perform in Norman for the first time in several years.
The CenturyMen, established in 1969, will perform a free concert at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, at First Baptist Church, 211 W. Comanche St.
The 2015 spring concert tour will be under the direction of Dr. Charles Fuller. After 10 years as associate music director, Fuller was named the acting music director and conductor of The CenturyMen in August 2013 and music director and conductor in April 2014.
The concert will feature soloist Renay Peters Joubert with the piano artistry of Joseph Joubert.
The CenturyMen assembles annually to present concert tours in various areas of the United States. Every five years, The CenturyMen make a concert/mission tour abroad. International tours have included the nations of Canada, England, Wales, Scotland, Germany, Austria, Turkey, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Switzerland, Israel, Brazil, the People’s Republic of China, Russia, Poland, and the
The CenturyMen have
produced 12 recordings and have been featured on radio programs such as The Baptist
Hour, and Sounds of The CenturyMen. NBC Network Television has broadcast three
CenturyMen programs, Sounds of The CenturyMen, Sunday in Galilee, and China: Walls and Bridges (Emmy Award).
