Maundy Thursday

Posted by Dr. Wade Smith on

On a Thursday evening in Jerusalem, Jesus gathered with His disciples in an upper room to share the Passover. From the washing of feet to the sealing of His tomb, the next 24 hours would change the history of the world. He would be betrayed, denied, arrested, convicted, and crucified. This night would soon grow dark as Jesus broke bread and shared a cup, offering a glimpse of a New Covenant of sacrificial love and grace. But first, Judas would slip away. The events of the next hours had already been set into motion.

The First Baptist Family invites you to experience the darkness of these hours through a special Lord's Supper observance and Tenebrae Service on Maundy Thursday evening at 6:30. Through the use of candles and music, this "Service of Shadows" will stir the emotions of your heart and draw you to the cross and tomb of the Lord Jesus.

A nursery is provided for infants through Kindergarten.
