Missions
The ministry of First Baptist Church spans in Oklahoma and beyond. From mission trips to aid with Hurricane Harvey damage in the Houston, Texas area to serving overseas, FBC is committed to serving God and his people no matter their zip code.
Our History
In 1889, the First Baptist Church of Norman was established by three families and their new pastor, Z.M. Wells. With an offering of $5.60, they hoped to grow their church. Little did they know that it would continue over a century, producing future missionaries and contributing millions of dollars to international missions. Today, thousands of members have dedicated their time and resources to the activities and ministries of FBC, making a significant impact on the community and beyond.
Mission
House
The Mission House at First Baptist Norman is a ministry dedicated to supporting missionary families by providing them with a home, fellowship, and opportunities to serve. Supported by tithes, offerings, and volunteers, this initiative enriches the FBC Norman community through connections with missionaries. Since 2013, the Mission House has hosted over 15 families who have served in countries like Colombia, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. Through this ministry, the church strengthens its commitment to missions and the global church.
