Dec 4: Hope in His Timing

When we have a dream, it’s easy to become so focused on pursuing it that we start relying on our own plans. We pour ourselves into working hard, meticulously crafting every detail, and pushing forward with all our strength—often without stopping to consider how God is guiding our journey. Yet, no amount of effort can bring God’s plan to fruition before its time. Sometimes, we need to step back, release control, and trust that His timing is what truly matters.

Since I was a child, I’ve dreamed of becoming an opera singer. For years, I’ve poured my heart and soul into this dream—late nights studying, pushing my voice to its limits, traveling for auditions, and investing in lessons and competitions. But as much as I’ve worked toward my dream, one truth has become clear: I cannot rush God’s timing. No amount of hard work or desire can force His plan into motion before its appointed time. When rejections come—and they do—I remind myself that God has a plan for me that’s bigger than my own understanding. I hold onto HOPE that He is preparing the right path and that when the time is right, I’ll be ready. The setbacks, though painful, are part of the journey He is using to shape me into the person He’s called me to be.

This reminds me of Mary. God’s plan for her life was beyond what she could have ever imagined. When the angel Gabriel appeared to her, telling her that she would bear the Savior of the world, the timing seemed impossible. Mary was young, not yet married, and from a humble background. Yet, she trusted in God’s promise and His timing.

Much like Mary, I’ve come to realize that my journey won’t always look the way I expect. The rejections and waiting periods I face are not setbacks—they are part of God's perfect plan. I have HOPE that He is shaping me for the path He is preparing. Like Mary, I choose to trust that God’s timing is perfect, and when the moment comes, I’ll be ready to step into His calling for me.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you HOPE and a future.”

Jeremiah 29:11

Just as God’s timing was perfect for the birth of Jesus, I believe His timing will be perfect for me. My HOPE rests in knowing that He is guiding me and that in His perfect timing, all things will come to fruition.
