Dec 5: Hope: A Brand New Person

One day, I ate a meal in a restaurant and was greatly disappointed. The entire place was dirty. The tablecloth was not clean, the menu was stained with food particles, the waiter’s uniform was dirty, the service was poor, and the food was poorer. I resolved not to go back. Months later, I drove by the restaurant again and saw a sign on the door saying, “Under new management.” I decided to try it again and hoped that things would be different. Upon entering, I was greeted pleasantly and showed to a seat. The tablecloth was clean, the menu was clean, the waiter was neat and courteous, and the food was excellent. I was very pleased. What happened? The restaurant had a new manager. He had made things new and in order. My HOPE for a new change in the restaurant became a reality.

In today’s society, we find ourselves troubled and concerned about the world’s situations. Social disorders, crime, drugs, inflation, personal conflicts, wars, etc. The list is seemingly endless. Many people tend to lose HOPE and feel there is no longer a positive direction.

The Bible declares that there is HOPE. HOPE is found in God. HOPE is found in the birth of His Son, Jesus Christ. HOPE is the true message of Advent.

The hymn writer said it best, “My HOPE is built on nothing less than Jesus Christ!” When you feel hopeless, reach out to Jesus, and He will give you new life, new joy, new peace, and a renewed direction.

The Bible says, “Therefore if any person be in Christ, they are a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things become new.” (II Corinthians 5:17) True HOPE is when a person comes to Christ. He gets a “new Manager.” Jesus comes into our lives and changes all of it for the better. The person is not the same anymore. A new life, with new HOPE, has begun!

Wherever you go, share HOPE, the Blessed HOPE that can only be found in Jesus Christ.

Prayer:

Lord, thank you for the HOPE of a new life we have been given through

the birth of Jesus. Amen.
