Dec 8: Finding Hope & Peace

Where does HOPE come from? Where do you place your HOPE? How often do you think about whether you have real, eternal, peace-giving HOPE? I know that HOPE is available to everyone. So, why do we see people everywhere that seem without HOPE?

Paul tells us in Colossians 1:27 that “Christ in us is the HOPE of glory.” When we confess our sins and accept Jesus Christ as our personal Savior, we ask God and the Holy Spirit to take over our lives. As we allow God to have control of our lives and ask for the filling of the Holy Spirit, the fruit of the Spirit becomes evident in our lives. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control become witnessing attributes of Christ in us to others. See Galatians 5:22-23.

When we surrender ourselves to God, Hope is Born in us. We have a personal relationship with God the Father, the creator of the universe. He desires our praise and our communication with Him. He knows everything about us and wants the best for us. He gives us the HOPE that He is directly and personally involved in our daily lives. In addition, we have HOPE for the future and all of eternity. 1 Peter 1:3-4 says, “...he has caused us to be born again to a living HOPE through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you,”. Wow! I want that! Don’t you?

God has a plan for your life. When we seek Him, He gladly leads us to His will for our lives. Each of us is unique, and His work in our lives is personal to each one of us. But you must want that personal relationship. Then, real, eternal, peace-giving HOPE can be born in you!
